Artist Bio
Jo Anne has always been fascinated with watercolor paintings. She is intrigued by the wet, uncontrolled self mixing of colors that create the most wonderful effects with just color and water. It’s the perfect medium for her loose free flowing style. Since she enjoys painting out of her head, she prefers to paint in a loose impressionistic manner so that she can be spontaneous and less deliberate. This allows her to demonstrate her inherent intuitive style.
Primarily self taught, she’s been dabbling in watercolor for the past 10 years. She has had the pleasure of sharing her experience and acquired knowledge by teaching at Green River Community College since 2004 and still teaches there and various locations including her home studio. She also teaches kids and has taught elementary after school programs.
In addition to watercolor, she can paint porcelain, glass, ceramic tile, oil on canvas and acrylic on leather goods. She has experimented with collage and encaustic techniques.
She sells her original paintings, prints, cards and other art products at local art shows and festivals throughout the year. She is published in the
“Artists of the West” 2008 edition.
“I believe anyone can paint and that I can bring out the artist within!”
